OnAir for Chrome (browser extension)

This section covers the OnAir screen recorder extension for Google Chrome. It is effective as of 2026-10-28.

What the extension accesses. Only when you start a recording, and only with your permission:

  • your screen, a window or the current tab, with the tab’s sound;
  • your camera, to show the camera bubble on top of the recording;
  • your microphone, to record your voice.

Chrome asks you before the camera and microphone are used for the first time, and you choose what to share in Chrome’s own screen picker. You can turn the camera and microphone off before or during a recording, and revoke access at any time in Chrome’s site settings.

Where recordings are stored. Recordings are saved only in your browser’s local storage on your device (IndexedDB). They are not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else. When you download a recording, it is saved as a file on your device. Deleting a recording in the extension, or removing the extension, deletes it from the browser.

What we do not collect. The extension does not collect or transmit personal information, browsing history, page content, recordings, camera or microphone data. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it does not send data to third parties. Settings such as the camera shape, size and position and the chosen microphone, and a count of your exports (used to decide when to ask for a review), are kept in the extension’s storage on your device and never leave it.

Links that open our pages. When you remove the extension, Chrome opens onaircam.com; buttons in the extension can open the App Store or the extension’s Chrome Web Store page. These are ordinary page visits, governed by those sites’ policies.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. The use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell user data, use it for purposes unrelated to recording, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

If we later add optional features such as accounts or cloud sharing, we will update this section before they are released, and they will only be used if you turn them on.
